Ingredients You'll Need
- 4 Meridian Free Range Rib Eye Steaks
- 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
- 6 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1 Tbsp. Ginger, fresh grated
- 1 Tsp. Mustard Powder
- 1/2 Tsp. Sesame Oil
- 1/4 Tsp. Hot Pepper Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Root Beer
Directions
- In a medium size mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, mustard powder, sesame oil, and hot sauce; mix well to blend
- Add the root beer and stir lightly to mix
- Prepare steaks by scoring any exposed fat around the outside circumference (this prevents the steaks from curling when grilling)
- Place steaks in a casserole dish or zip loc bag and pour marinade over them
- Turn steaks over several times to coat well
- Keep covered (or sealed) and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or even over night
- Preheat barbeque to high heat
- Place steaks directly on grill and sear one side for about 15 seconds
- Turn steaks over and cook for about 5 minutes, then turn again and cook for another 4 minutes for medium rare (timing can vary based on bbq heat and outside temperatures)
- Bring reserved marinate to a boil and serve warm with steaks
